Help United Jewish Appeal give Jewish Youngsters a "Smashing" Great Summer

Funds raised through SMASH will drastically improve the lives of countless Jewish youngsters across the Greater Toronto Area.

Proceeds will help ensure that thousands of boys and girls will take advantage of an important opportunity – one that they might not have otherwise – to enjoy the lifelong benefits that go with attending Jewish summer and day camps.

Studies have shown that attending summer camps, or Jewish day camps, result in an increased Jewish identity and connection to Israel, not to mention the lifelong friendships that are formed between campers.

Through United Jewish Appeal’s Camping Subsidy Program, and made possible by UJA’s partner agencies Jewish Family & Child (JF&CS) and JIAS, Jewish children from low-income families will receive scholarships to attend Jewish summer camp, guaranteeing them a summer that they’ll never forget!

The first annual SMASH presented by United Jewish Appeal [UJA] will be Toronto’s hottest fundraising event benefiting UJA’s goal of improving the lives of countless Jewish children from low-income families. With your support, we can give these kids the chance to receive a “smashing” summer!

On Thursday March 1, 2012, get ready for a pulse racing, action packed, and incredibly fun evening of celebrities, sportsmanship, entertainment and of course… Ping Pong.

The Ball is now in your court! Smash’s main event features 40 teams consisting of three people each, playing three mixed doubles matches over the course of approx., four hours all while enjoying great food, a live auction and more. This is one event you don’t want to miss!

Not a Ping Pong Pro? Absolutely no experience is required. Our goal is to “serve up” an incredibly interactive good time, allowing everyone from novice to pro to register, fundraise and participate!

The name of the game is to have fun while raising funds, awareness and drastically improving the lives of countless Jewish youngsters across the Greater Toronto Area.

Participants must be 19 years of age or older.
Register online as a Team Captain. Once you are registered, our simple, secure, online fundraising system will guide you through the process of inviting 2 of your fun loving friends, family and/or co-workers to join YOUR team. Every team member will be able to set up a personal fundraising page. In order to qualify and play, teams must fundraise the minimum $3,000 fundraising goal.

Only the top 10 highest fundraising teams will be able to play with a celebrity team mate. Teams who fundraise $10,000 or more will earn the privilege of selecting their celebrity team mate from our incredible line-up of participating celebrities. A registration fee of $75 per team member will apply.
